Rest and Leisure
Only rested people can have a cheerful and fresh look. Monotonous, long-term work without rest and short breaks can lead to overstrain, i.e. to a breach of the normal course of physiological processes in the body.
Among the symptoms of overstrain the first place is taken by muscle pain, general weakness, irritability, discomfort, constant ill-being, apathy and drowsiness. Overstrain contributes to aggravation of chronic processes in the body. Fatigue often may be caused by poor organization of work, monotonous toil. If you plan your activities properly you can avoid extreme fatigue. Great role here is played by the state of workplace, clothing, lighting, position of the body at work and the noise level in the working environment.
Overstrain often arises as a result of breach in normal rhythm of work and rest. Activity rest increases resistance to fatigue. The best types of recreation are long walks, hiking and sport.
It is very important to have short breaks, change of occupation. After hard physical work it is useful to take work which requires mental effort. On the contrary, mental fatigue is easier to remove by a physical effort (playing tennis, working in the garden, etc.). Both physical and mental strain can be reduced by taking several deep breaths and exhalations and relaxation exercises.
The best rest is a full physical and mental relaxation. Daily 30-40 min of complete rest will help you to restore your energy. It is desirable to take a shower before rest, and after intensive work it is better to take a 10-15 minute warm bath.
It is important to choose the right place for rest. The best variant is a forest, a park, a quiet place, where no one will disturb you.
It is very important for a good rest to be able to relax quickly. If you have mastered this method and got accustomed to it, then you can get rid of fatigue forever. To relax you should sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes. Try not to think, ignore surrounding sounds. Imagine yourself on a beach or at a lake, imagine flying gulls or floating clouds, remember the excellent air which can be breathed in these wonderful places. At first order mentally your left leg to relax, then order it to your right leg. Then order the same to the other parts of your body. At the beginning it will be difficult to attain, but gradually in the process of training relaxation will become increasingly deeper. In two weeks of training you will perfectly master this art, and then you will be able to move on to more complex things, i.e. to remove toothache and headache, etc.
